At Aikido Kids we teach the children firstly how to avoid potentially dangerous situations.
They are trained in a professional and supportive way to deal with all manner of attacks, both from children and adults.
A range of options is gradually introduced that allows the child to choose the level of response to an attack. For example, their response will be different to a brother or sister who just becomes a bit too boisterous to that used against a potentially violent attack by a mugger.
Children are taught by professional instructors in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. We do not tolerate any form of aggressive behaviour.
Safety is of paramount importance and great care is taken in the teaching of what could sometimes be painful joint locks or immobilisations. A qualified First-aider is usually present at all classes.
